Sysco, a potential new food vendor, will be sponsoring a FREE, Happy Hour Buffet on August 30, 2010, from 5 - 7 PM. Please come and enjoy some of the new, potential food items for our menu. The latest news letter from the family center has been mailed to all active members.

I hope this edition of the newsletter finds all members well. A lot has happened since the last newsletter and I'd like to share some of the past events and news affecting all of us as members.

First, we have a new Social Quarters Manager at The Muncy Valley Family Center. His name is Steve Gingery. Steve has been busy the past few weeks learning and observing all aspects of the various areas and operations at the Moose. He has extensive restaurant experience and we are excited to have him here. When you see Steve in the Moose, please introduce yourself.

We have a lot of events and functions planned for the coming months. The first event will be the Craft Fair and Chicken BBQ on May 8th at the Moose. We have almost 30 vendors already committed. It will be held rain or shine. As you can see in our schedule of events in this issue, we have scheduled our Annual Golf Tournament, Annual Family Picnic, Members Only Picnic and several other events.

Annual Elections were held on April 5th. Your elected Board of Officers for the 2010 - 2011 will be as follows; Governor Brian Toseki, Junior Governor Kevin Harris, Prelate Dale Johnson, Treasurer Bob Kolbrich, Trustee Steve Klein, Trustee Ed Hiller, Trustee Kevin McElwee, Administrator Dave Adams and Junior Past Governor Steve Ryder. Please congratulate these men when you see them and give them your support for the coming year.

This edition of the Muncy Valley Moose Family Center #866 newsletter will be the final printed edition. This decision comes after much discussion and it was a difficult one to make. In the end, this decision was made based on two facts; The printing and mailing of the newsletter costs the Family Center $800.00 four times a year and the fact that most information contained in the newsletter is also readily available to members elsewhere All Family Center functions, events, and news are advertised extensively in five different places. Upcoming events are advertised under our weekly menu in the East Lycoming Shopper, on the sign in front of the Family Center, on posters throughout the lodge and on the marquee behind the bar. This is in addition to the Family Center website which many members are already using on a regular basis. This access to news and information coupled with the fact that three to four thousand dollars per year can be put to good use either through Moose charities or to help local charitable causes was the deciding factors in reaching the decision to discontinue the newsletter.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to you for allowing me to serve as the Governor of the Muncy Valley Moose Family Center #866 for the past year. It has truly been an honor. I think our Family Center is comprised of the best and most charitable people this area has to offer. I hope to see you at our Moose Family Center.

We are quickly approaching the end of another fiscal year (Apr ’10) for the Moose International Calendar. We wish to thank all of our members for making this year a huge success for our Family Center. We soon will begin to fulfill our Family Center obligations to the tasks we are assigned as being an integral part to the overall success of the Loyal Order of Moose. We anticipate we can count on the support of all our members to assist as you have in the past to our tasks. Additionally, anyone wishing to further help in our tasks may contact any of the officers of the Family Center or Chapter 2222.

As the summer season approaches, the Family Center has several picnics scheduled for the enjoyment of our members. We hope everyone will participate as you can. As always should you have any suggestions for the good of our Family Center, please pass them on.
